Annual Apple Hill Trip

We were so excited to keep up our tradition of an annual Apple Hill visit this year! And we were even MORE excited that we could go with Grandma and Grandpa again! I think we are 3 for 3 so far! The weather was yucky and their trip out wasn't certain---but we made it by the skin of our teeth the 28th of October.

We ate some good grub, which of course included apple goodies.... :) But we still have yet to find a REALLY GOOD restaurant. So all you locals, comment! Tell me your favorite place to eat up there! Next year, we are thinking of going into the little town nearby and trying out some places there, TripleD style! (a show called Diners, Drive-in's and Dives, if you didn't follow that. Google it.) :)

We went on a scavenger hunt for lots of different things and I think we only had one thing left...I can't remember what it was but I think it was something silly like 'dew on a leaf'. Um, unless it's 7AM, chances are slim for that one. Anyway, we bought a big box of apples, a few jars of jam and relish, fed some animals and just enjoyed walking around getting some fresh air and having fun together. I hope we can keep the tradition alive in the coming years!!

Love the pictures of the girls with the pony? I paint animals and people so these shots really stand out, great moment you captured!

I Finally Did It!

This is going to come out entirely wrong, but I promise I will explain what I mean. I finally showered on my own!! That truly is the most accurate and succinct way of putting it. Now before your mind starts processing...WHAT I MEAN IS... Yesterday, for the FIRST time since the girls were born, I didn't have to have another person in my house to be with my children while I showered!! WOO HOO !! (technically, I tried it once before, but the girls were all strapped in their little seats in the bathroom with me and I had to have the sliding shower door open so they could see me. They screamed the entire time. I was lucky to get the shampoo rinsed out of my hair that day. I swore that I would NEVER do that again.) I've always had to make plans in advance for when I wanted to shower. Either I had to work around my husbands unpredictable schedule or arrange for my mother in law to come over or something. MERRY CHRISTMAS--2011!!

Wow---I know. You may just fall off your chair or couch or wherever you happen to be when you see that I'm ACTUALLY posting on my blog! :) What a long strange trip it's been...hard to get motivated to blog most of the time. But I wanted to share with you a Christmas greeting. I wish I could send a "real" copy to every single one of you (i.e. the two people who actually follow me....) lol but I just couldn't seem to get to it this year. I hope this e-card will suffice. *Thanksgiving 2010*

Here is a short recap of Thanksgiving. It was pretty low-key and we hosted at our house. I asked the girls what they were grateful for. Here is what they said: 1. Ashleigh: "mommy and daddy....ummm.....ummmmm....." 2. Jordyn : : " ummmm ....I'm grateful for...ummmmm......Jesus and Heavenly Father." 3. Avery: "mommy, nana , papa, all the nice food we have, grandma, grandpa, Tinkerbell, Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine and Belle. And for hearts." It was like pulling teeth for everyone but Avery, who is thankful last of all for "hearts". Um...? I don't know if she meant, like, our beating hearts in our bodies or just the "heart" shape?? Who knows. But it made me laugh. I know they are grateful for many things, but it's hard to come up with them when you are put on the spot.
