15 Month Docs Appointment

We went to the doctor today to get one of the last immunizations this year (one more to come). Nothing special to report, but they recognized where we were the second we walked in... and cried. They refused to get measured and weighed so we had to do something horrible---I had to get on the scale with them!! The horror! Just Kiddin. The number on the scale doesn't really scare me...I might not like it, but it's alright. Here are the stats:

Ashleigh Noelle: 23.5 lbs. and 30.5 inches, her head circumference/growth is normal this time(thank heavens!!)

Jordyn Alessa: 26 lbs. and 33 inches

Avery Bella: 20.5 lbs. and 29 inches

We had a bad night last night. Just like old times, I guess. It's been a steady build up the past few nights, but it culminated in a 2AM bedtime last night and we had an early doctors appointment, of course! They have been sleepy and a little grumpy today, so I'm sure it's a combo of the shot and the sleepies.

Our friend Rachel came with Tony and I to the doctor and helped us get the girls ready this morning because Tony's mom was unable to help, as she normally does for things like that. Unfortunately, she had a stroke on Tuesday afternoon. She came over to our house shortly after it happened (we guess) and I had to carry her into our house. It was one of the scariest times of my life. I didn't know what to do and thought it might be something low blood-sugar induced since she is diabetic. So I called Tony and Tony's dad and they both rushed to the house, arriving at the same time. I had given her some juice, hoping that would solve the issues, but as we found out, it wasn't low blood sugar (which can be dangerous, too). She has been in the hospital and had numerous tests which revealed she had experienced previous strokes and not even known it. Amazingly, she was released to go home today and seems to be doing really well. We are so blessed that we caught it soon and were able to reduce possible permanent damage by acting quickly. We are so grateful for the thoughts and prayers on her (and our) behalf. Never underestimate the power of prayer! HE is always mindful of our situation and will never give us anything we can't handle. I just have to remember that we are on the Lord's time, not ours. The minute we start to think we are in control of our lives, He sends us a curve ball to remind us we are not. I appreciate my many blessings every day.

Thank you, Rachel, for sacrificing your time to help us. Please pardon our perpetual chaos. Someday my house will be presentable. :) The girls enjoyed seeing you again!

Anytime! You know I loved being able to come and help out. I know no one substitutes Grandma but I am willing anytime! You're girls are darling and are getting so big. I am glad to hear Tony's mom is doing better.
