*Thanksgiving 2010*
Here is a short recap of Thanksgiving. It was pretty low-key and we hosted at our house.
I asked the girls what they were grateful for. Here is what they said:
1. Ashleigh: "mommy and daddy....ummm.....ummmmm....."
2. Jordyn: : "ummmm....I'm grateful for...ummmmm......Jesus and Heavenly Father."
3. Avery: "mommy, nana, papa, all the nice food we have, grandma, grandpa, Tinkerbell, Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine and Belle. And for hearts."
It was like pulling teeth for everyone but Avery, who is thankful last of all for "hearts". Um...? I don't know if she meant, like, our beating hearts in our bodies or just the "heart" shape?? Who knows. But it made me laugh. I know they are grateful for many things, but it's hard to come up with them when you are put on the spot. And when you're not even four years old. :)
For my list, I'm grateful for supportive family members who I can turn to when I have a question or need help with just about anything. I'm so blessed to have been given triplets to raise. It has been a wonderful and hard road to travel. But I've grown and learned so much. I'm learning more every day...mostly from the mistakes I make DAILY. I'm grateful for a roof over my head, a working (new) heater and food to eat when there are so many people who go without these basic necessities. I'm grateful for my talents which don't use as much as I should. I'm grateful for my Savior and for the opportunity I have to serve in His church. I feel the most like myself when I'm helping others. I have always had a strong desire for this and I hope I can do more in the coming year. I love living in California and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to do so, even though it's far away from the rest of my family. The list for what I'm grateful for could be never-ending, so I will stop here.
Happy Thanksgiving!! Let's be grateful for what we've been given every day!
