**Beach Babies**

We took the girls to the beach for the first time a couple of weeks ago. A long overdue trip! We are so close but it's *just* far enough to not be convenient. Does that make sense? And the water is chilly so you can't really swim...unless you are super brave. (steph? tj?) :) Not to mention the thought of one of the girls eating sand gave me the willies. But now they are old enough to enjoy it and I don't have to worry about sand-poisoning. (or something like that....) ;)

Tony had to go down to the Bay Area for an brief appointment one Saturday so I asked him if we could tag along to have a picnic on the beach. We had to be back in town by 2pm so it was just a quick down and back, but as you can see, we had SO much fun!!
Waiting for the first wave on the toes....brrrr!!


In order of bravery: Ashleigh, bravest. Avery, sort of brave.
Jordyn....chicken liver.

"Why, yes! Yes, that IS paint!" (A gallon of paint, to be exact. And, yes, that is my car. The driver's seat, actually.) That was my response to the nosey man, with a 6 year old child in tow, who was in line ahead of me at the car detailer. It's as if NO ONE has ever seen a little paint spilled before.... Veni, Vidi, Vici!

I came, I saw, I conquered! Well, I'm working on the conquering part. We all need to toot our own horns occasionally, so I am going to take a brief moment to do so. I know that whenever I get anything done, it makes me motivated to something else. Do you feel that way too? It's like the momentum takes over and you just start rolling! I usually roll right into a brick wall (i.e. children, etc.) And we, as parents, don't get the praise we should sometimes because it's just expected we do 'stuff'. Well, I have pretty much just made sure no one died in the past 15.5 months and the effects on my house are very evident. I like to be neat and organized. I hate clutter. Well, I've been living in massive amounts of clutter and it's just overwhelming and depressing, but it's not like I'm ignoring it on purpose. It all started with an all day Christmas Eve cheesy Lifetime movie marathon ( for me ); then once the girls were in bed for the night, I changed into my warm 'star' fleece pj's, curled up with a blanket and enjoyed a glass of (milk-diluted) egg nog complete with whipped cream and nutmeg sprinkled on top. Tony and I watched a couple more Christmas movies together and I just looked at him and said "This is the perfect Christmas Eve." I was so content and happy. And it was so good to feel that way.
