*Thanksgiving 2010*

Here is a short recap of Thanksgiving. It was pretty low-key and we hosted at our house. I asked the girls what they were grateful for. Here is what they said: 1. Ashleigh: "mommy and daddy....ummm.....ummmmm....." 2. Jordyn : : " ummmm ....I'm grateful for...ummmmm......Jesus and Heavenly Father." 3. Avery: "mommy, nana , papa, all the nice food we have, grandma, grandpa, Tinkerbell, Snow White, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine and Belle. And for hearts." It was like pulling teeth for everyone but Avery, who is thankful last of all for "hearts". Um...? I don't know if she meant, like, our beating hearts in our bodies or just the "heart" shape?? Who knows. But it made me laugh. I know they are grateful for many things, but it's hard to come up with them when you are put on the spot. And when you're not even four years old. :) For my list, I'm grateful for supportive family members who I can turn to when I have a question or n

{{ BOO! }} Halloween 2010

I tried reeeealllly hard to convince my little angels to wear any other costume. I even came up with some pretty clever ideas... But, alas. They only had eyes for everything PRINCESS *sighs* Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Disney and girly princess stuff...but it's just so.....cliche, ya know?? Every other 3/4/5/6 year old girl dresses up like some sort of Disney princess, with varying stylized costumes. I don't want my girls or anyone else to think their "Belle" costume is better or worse than any other. And, most kids say stuff, not knowing they are being rude or mean...kids just say things. They are honest. Not that any of this happened, but it just makes me uncomfortable. That's why I always prefer costumes of the "homemade" variety. Guaranteed to be original. Anyway, that was a long tangent. Back to the reason for this post----Halloween! And the girlies ! They all decided long before Halloween who they wanted to be. L to R: Ashleigh =Ariel (or,

Another Annual ::The Pumpkin Patch::

Image
The day after we went to Apple Hill, we all ventured over to our favorite (and closest) pumpkin patch: Dave's . The had completely re-done the layout and it was awesome. We were there on a Friday but I think on weekends they even had fair-like games (you know, like toss the ring on the bottle kind of things). This year we were VERY adventurous----we climbed the hay bale pyramid with Papa, went through the hay-maze, rode on the hay ride pulled by a tractor AND the girls each rode a PONY!! Well, technically, Jordyn and Avery rode full sized horses. But the last one on, being Ashleigh, got the tiniest miniature pony. It was so so hilarious to see the other two on these giant horses then here comes Ash, trotting along on her shrunken one. One of the workers led the big horses but my mom and dad got to take Ashleigh around on the pony. The worker dude (whom I've dubbed "Juan") was basically trotting the horses. I had to run to catch up just so I could take a picture. Then

Annual Apple Hill Trip

Image
We were so excited to keep up our tradition of an annual Apple Hill visit this year! And we were even MORE excited that we could go with Grandma and Grandpa again! I think we are 3 for 3 so far! The weather was yucky and their trip out wasn't certain---but we made it by the skin of our teeth the 28 th of October. We ate some good grub, which of course included apple goodies.... :) But we still have yet to find a REALLY GOOD restaurant. So all you locals, comment! Tell me your favorite place to eat up there! Next year, we are thinking of going into the little town nearby and trying out some places there, TripleD style! (a show called Diners, Drive- in's and Dives, if you didn't follow that. Google it.) :) We went on a scavenger hunt for lots of different things and I think we only had one thing left...I can't remember what it was but I think it was something silly like 'dew on a leaf'. Um, unless it's 7AM, chances are slim for that one. Anyway, we bought
